Vox Popoli: The war that was lost

Immigration, as the great Israeli military historian Martin van Creveld has shown, is war. And that war, not WWI, WWII, or the Cold War, was the true existential war that America faced, and lost, as demonstrated by this selection from The Old World in the New: The Significance of Past and Present Immigration to the American People, published in 1914 by sociologist E.A. Ross:

If you should ask an Englishman whether the tone of political life in his country would remain unaffected by the admission to the electorate of a couple of million Cypriotes, Vlachs, and Bessarabians after five years’ residence, he would take you for a madman. Suggest to the German that the plane of political intelligence in reading and thinking Germany would not be lowered by the access to the ballot-box of multitudes of Serbs, Georgians, and Druses of Lebanon, and he will consign you to bedlam. Assure the son of Norway that the vote of the Persian or Yemenite, of sixty months’ residence in Norway, will be as often wise and right as his own, and he will be insulted. It is only we Americans who assume that the voting of the Middle Atlantic States, with their million of naturalized citizens, or of the East North Central States, with their million, is as sane, discriminating, and forward-looking as it would be without them.

The Italian historian and sociologist Ferrero, after reviewing our immigration policy, concludes that the Americans, far from being “practical,” are really the mystics of the modern world. He says: “To confer citizenship each year upon great numbers of men born and educated in foreign countries—men who come with ideas and sympathies totally out of spirit with the diverse conditions in the new country; to grant them political rights they do not want, and of which they have never thought; to compel them to declare allegiance to a political constitution which they often do not understand; to try to transform subjects of old European monarchies into free citizens of young American republics over night—is not all this to do violence to common sense?”

As I sought to show, near the end of my initial chapter, the conditions of settlement of this country caused those of uncommon energy and venturesomeness to outmultiply the rest of the population. Thus came into existence the pioneering breed; and this breed increased until it is safe to estimate that fully half of white Americans with native grandparents have one or more pioneers among their ancestors. Whatever valuable race traits distinguish the American people from the parent European stocks are due to the efflorescence of this breed. Without it there would have been little in the performance of our people to arrest the attention of the world. Now we confront the melancholy spectacle of this pioneer breed being swamped and submerged by an overwhelming tide of latecomers from the old-world hive. In Atlanta still seven out of eight white men had American parents; in Nashville and Richmond, four out of five; in Kansas City, two out of three; and in Los Angeles, one out of two; but in Detroit, Cleveland, and Paterson one man out of five had American parents; in Chicago and New York, one out of six; in Milwaukee, one out of seven; and in Fall River, one out of nine. Certainly never since the colonial era have the foreign-born and their children formed so large a proportion of the American people as at the present moment. I scanned 368 persons as they passed me in Union Square, New York, at a time when the garment-workers of the Fifth Avenue lofts were returning to their homes. Only thirty-eight of these passers-by had the type of face one would find at a county fair in the West or South.

In the six or seven hundred thousand strangers that yearly join themselves to us for good and all, there are to be found, of course, every talent and every beauty. Out of the steerage come persons as fine and noble as any who have trodden American soil. Any adverse characterization of an immigrant stream implies, then, only that the trait is relatively frequent, not that it is universal.

In this sense it is fair to say that the blood now being injected into the veins of our people is “sub-common.” To one accustomed to the aspect of the normal American population, the Caliban type shows up with a frequency that is startling. Observe immigrants not as they come travel-wan up the gang-plank, nor as they issue toil-begrimed from pit’s mouth or mill gate, but in their gatherings, washed, combed, and in their Sunday best. You are struck by the fact that from ten to twenty per cent. are hirsute, low-browed, big-faced persons of obviously low mentality. Not that they suggest evil. They simply look out of place in black clothes and stiff collar, since clearly they belong in skins, in wattled huts at the close of the Great Ice Age. These oxlike men are descendants of those who always stayed behind. Those in whom the soul burns with the dull, smoky flame of the pine-knot stuck to the soil, and are now thick in the sluiceways of immigration. Those in whom it burns with a clear, luminous flame have been attracted to the cities of the home land and, having prospects, have no motive to submit themselves to the hardships of the steerage.

To the practised eye, the physiognomy of certain groups unmistakably proclaims inferiority of type. I have seen gatherings of the foreign-born in which narrow and sloping foreheads were the rule. The shortness and smallness of the crania were very noticeable. There was much facial asymmetry. Among the women, beauty, aside from the fleeting, epidermal bloom of girlhood, was quite lacking. In every face there was something wrong—lips thick, mouth coarse, upper lip too long, cheek-bones too high, chin poorly formed, the bridge of the nose hollowed, the base of the nose tilted, or else the whole face prognathous. There were so many sugar-loaf heads, moon-faces, slit mouths, lantern-jaws, and goose-bill noses that one might imagine a malicious jinn had amused himself by casting human beings in a set of skew-molds discarded by the Creator.

Our captains of industry give a crowbar to the immigrant with a number nine face on a number six head, make a dividend out of him, and imagine that is the end of the matter. They overlook that this man will beget children in his image—two or three times as many as the American—and that these children will in turn beget children. They chuckle at having opened an inexhaustible store of cheap tools and, lo! the American people is being altered for all time by these tools. Once before, captains of industry took a hand in making this people. Colonial planters imported Africans to hoe in the sun, to “develop” the tobacco, indigo, and rice plantations. Then, as now, business-minded men met with contempt the protests of a few idealists against their way of “building up the country.”

Those promoters of prosperity are dust, but they bequeathed a situation which in four years wiped out more wealth than two hundred years of slavery had built up, and which presents to-day the one unsolvable problem in this country. Without likening immigrants to negroes, one may point out how the latter-day employer resembles the old-time planter in his blindness to the effects of his labor policy upon the blood of the nation.

If America is to leave behind any historical legacy for the ages, it is this. First, pick your own damn cotton. Second, always sink the ships. Third, never let business-minded men set national policy, because for all their pragmatism, they are totally incapable of seeing anything beyond tomorrow's pocketbook.

Seldom has a Cassandra foreseen coming catastrophe more clearly. It is small, though rather cold, comfort to know that the die was cast long before most of us were even born. Even so, Ross's closing paragraph is a haunting one.

“The Roman world was laughing when it died.” Any couple or any people that does not feel it has anything to transmit to its children may well reason in such fashion. A couple may reflect, “It is simpler, speedier, and cheaper for us to adopt orphans than to produce children of our own.” A nation may reason, “Why burden ourselves with the rearing of children? Let them perish unborn in the womb of time. The immigrants will keep up the population.” A people that has no more respect for its ancestors and no more pride of race than this deserves the extinction that surely awaits it.

Always Covid & Never Christmas: Breaking the Spell That Holds us in its Grip - by Rob Slane

“Boris Johnson? Who is he?” asked Lucy.

“Why, it is he that has got all Covidia under his thumb,” said Mr Tumnus. “It’s he that makes it always Covid. Always Covid and never Christmas; think of that!”
– The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, CS Lewis (with a few changes)

Were he around today, I have no doubt that C.S. Lewis, one of the 20thCentury’s greatest intellects, would be utterly scathing of what the British Government has done to this country over the past 7 months, given that it has been the very epitome of the scientific and technocratic oligarchy he warned us about decades ago. And so I feel somewhat at liberty to take his comment about the White Witch turning Narnia into perpetual winter without joy and without Christmas, and apply it to our own situation in the land of Covidia (which is where you now live) – a place of perpetual fear and misery, where ordinary life is impossible, and where any hints of joy breaking out must be nipped in the bud before they are allowed to grow to challenge the new winter  normal that is settling fast around us.

The words may even turn out to be literally true. In Scotland, they are already talking about what they call a digital Christmas, whatever absurdity that is, whilst in England a psychological game of Good Cop/Bad Cop is going on, with Comrade de Pfeffel Johnson apparently desperately hoping that we’ll all have a normal Christmas, but with members of the ironically named SAGE committee saying this is wishful thinking. Who will win out? Of course the Bad Cops will win out, but no doubt carefully managed and cleverly messaged to present it as a kind of victory for Good Cop, whereby he wangles some concessions for us, such as a relaxation of the Rule of 6 to the Rule of 6+1 for a day, so that Great Aunt Maud doesn’t have to spend the day alone, and with Rishi Sunak perhaps pledging some more of his magic beans to fund subsidised turkeys. Come to think of it, cut-price turkeys would be a fairly apt metaphor for those in charge of this debacle. But lest they try to befuddle us with silly details over the next few weeks, hold this thought front and centre: The idea that anyone should need permission from the likes of de Pfeffel Johnson and his crew to be able to celebrate with their family and relations the coming of the King of Kings into the world is beyond parody.

Lewis’s point, like so much of what he wrote, was really rather profound. His original words — “Always winter and never Christmas” — were his way of showing how tyrants operate. They desire two things:

Firstly, they need to create perpetual oppression, a “new normal” which is depressing, ongoing, and which pulls everyone down into the resigned acceptance that there’s nothing they can do about it.

Secondly, they need to eradicate all attempts at celebration in the midst of the drudgery, because celebration reminds people of what life could be like and indeed what life should be like if it were not for the tyrants, and so is in danger of breaking the spell.

In the case of Narnia, that perpetual thing that dragged everyone down was winter. Ordinarily, winter is wonderful, but constant winter for 100 years without hope of thaw is oppressive and enough to destroy the morale of the population who gradually come to accept their conditions as normal. And just in case they should attempt to restore morale in the midst of the drudgery, reminding themselves what real life looks like, feels like, tastes like, why it must be stamped out. This indeed happens when the White Witch comes upon “a merry party” of animals sitting down to “a lovely smelling feast” with “decorations of holly,” “the smell of plum pudding,” and “raised glasses”. Joy cannot be allowed to imperil the misery, and so the scene ends with her turning them into stone.

In Covidia, the perpetual thing that drags everyone down is the constant, unrelenting fear, dished out via “hard-hitting emotional messaging,” using cherry-picked and out of context statistics, in order to back up the absurdly superstitious notion that we can control viruses by hiding from them. Like the White Witch, any semblance of normality and real life breaking through must be crushed, as this is the greatest threat to the perpetual fear and, if allowed to go unchecked, may start to convince people that we really don’t need to live like slaves and that life can operate perfectly normally if we allow it. The imposition of absurdly high fines for non-compliance, which could ruin a person, are the Covidian equivalent of the Narnian turning into stone.

One of the saddest things about all this, is how the unlawful decrees (and yes they have no proper basis in law) are greeted by those in charge of enforcing them with what seems to be a kind of relish. Policing Christmas meals might not seem like the sort of thing you pay your taxes for, or the sort of thing that threatens your life or livelihood, yet the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, David Jamieson, whose force has historically not been very quick to break up grooming gangs, said this about breaking up Christmas celebrations:

“If we think there’s large groups of people gathering where they shouldn’t be, then police will have to intervene. If, again, there’s flagrant breaking of the rules, then the police would have to enforce.”

Of course, he could have said something along the following lines:

“West Midlands officers are paid to protect law-abiding citizens from criminals and criminal activity. If the Government thinks we’re going to pour our resources into policing Christmas gatherings, they’ve got another think coming.”

But of course that would take common sense, courage, and a backbone, all of which seem to have deserted a good number of our authorities many years ago. What he went on to say must make it to the shortlist for the 2020 Ironic Statement of the Year Award:

“We’re sitting on a time bomb here. We’re getting very near the stage where you could see a considerable explosion of frustration and energy. Things are very on the edge in a lot of communities and it wouldn’t take very much to spark off unrest, riots, damage.”

Well yes, but might policing people’s Christmas gatherings be one of those things that contributes to the tipping over the edge? Worth considering, David.

It is plainly obvious that the people in charge of the Covid debacle have no intention of relinquishing their grip, or of allowing us to return to proper life, or of allowing us to take proportionate decisions for ourselves again. It is equally obvious that they are ably abetted by hordes of willing lower level bureaucrats who seem to have finally found their calling in life — hassling law-abiding citizens who are doing perfectly normal things. They are attempting to police almost every aspect of our lives, and the tragic thing is that we have largely allowed them to do it without so much as a peep. These joyless, soulless, technocrats intend to keep Britain under their thumb, making it always Covid and never Christmas.

In the long run, they need to know that it shall not always be so. That same King of Kings whose annual incarnation celebrations they wish to wreck and whose world they wish to control, did not come to earth 2,000 years ago to have his eternal plan wrecked by the likes of them. He is very patient, but when he decides enough is enough, that will be that (see Psalm 2), and these wannabe authoritarians will find themselves in the same despot’s dustbin of history as their predecessors.

In the meantime, what can we do as these tragic technocrats keep us in their icy, pseudo-scientific grip? Maybe not much, yet there is one small thing that we can all do, which if it catches on may have a chance of breaking the spell that has us in its grip. As Lewis teaches us, the one thing tyrants fear is masses of people suddenly defying them by refusing to act according to their joyless, soulless technocracy. And so that is just what we should do. As much as is possible, defy them by thinking normally, speaking normally, and living normally. Don’t let their absurd measures dictate to you how you should think and act. Rather, let your life be like that merry party, with its lovely smelling feast, its decorations of holly, its plum pudding, and its raised glasses. And go all out on that this Christmas.

Make this your new three-phrase slogan to replace the banal phrases with which this Government has effectively hypnotised millions of people into giving up their lives and placing us in a superstitious Doom-Loop:

Act normally. Defy the killjoys. Defeat tyranny.

The unsustainable, corrupt, and brittle man-made global warming story is unraveling. Climate maniacs predicted a snowless world years ago. However, we have reports this week that the Northern Hemisphere snow mass is already 300 gigatons above the 1982-2012 average.

This week hundreds of all-time cold records fell across North America. No heat, only frigid, deepening, and dangerous cold. The United States (Lower-48) just set its coldest temperature ever recorded this early in the season. Denver obliterated its all-time low-temperature record in weather books dating back 148 years. It is snowing in Hawaii! Winter is coming in hard and strong, with the cold reaching all the way to Mexico. For the city of Chihuahua the thermometer dropped to -1C.

“The ongoing cold is off the charts, with an air mass more typical of December or January than late October,” The Washington Post admits. Arctic blast brings minus -29 degree (-33.9) cold to Montana as snow and ice plastered the central U.S., toppling records far and wide. Readings plummeted to some 40 degrees F below average for this time of year.

On September 3, I published ‘What Happened to Summer.’ Last year in October, I published Winter at the End of Summer and Winter Has Arrived Months Early. This year we had historic cold in Sweden in July and an abrupt end of summer in the mountains of northern Spain in August when a sudden cold snap left the Picos de Europa range buried under a blanket of white. The Alps and Pyrenees also received heavy summer snow, and the French as well were reporting all-time record August low temperatures.

The arctic is ‘finally’ melting due to warm water that is perhaps sourced with many of the millions of underwater volcanoes. The Gakkel ridge is a gigantic chain of underwater volcanoes snaking 1,800 kilometers (1,100 miles) beneath the Arctic Ocean from Greenland’s northern tip to Siberia. The Gakkel Ridge has in the recent past pulsed massive amounts of heat into the overlying ocean and thereby melted large portions of the ice that floats above the heated ocean column. Increased cosmic rays during grand solar minimums increase volcanic activity because these high energy particles penetrate deep into the Earth.

But to compensate, Antarctic Sea Ice has expanded to record levels, and even Greenland sees reversals in ice coverage with its biggest glacier growing.

Climate Politics

The Guardian is warning that in the coming election, the climate crisis looms as perhaps the largest of all issues to be decided. At this point, it seems evident that climate change has more to do with politics than truth.

James Howard Kunstler, who does not love Trump, says, “The Democratic Party’s agenda would add an extra layer of tyrannical and sadistic insanity to the process that will only bring more suffering to more people, and I don’t want that to happen.”

A vote for Democrats is a vote for climate insanity. Believing in warming in a cooling world is dangerous.  Doing the wrong things can be catastrophic, leading to a suffering level few have the stomach to imagine. Their stance on climate shows everyone, moderate Democrats included, how hypnotized we can be by decades-long bombardments of propaganda. The sun is all-important in weather, but to Democrats, it is not on the radar. Only CO2 is.

Dr. Mototaka Nakamura of MIT, the Georgia Institute of Technology, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, JAMSTEC, and Duke University says in his book The Global Warming Hypothesis is an Unproven Hypothesis, explains why the data foundation underpinning global warming science is “untrustworthy” and cannot be relied on.

Agricultural Consequences

Wild weather is wreaking havoc on crops around the world, sending their prices skyrocketing. As prices soar on everything from sugar to cooking oil, millions of working-class families that had already scaled back on food purchases in the pandemic are being thrust deeper into financial distress. The Bloomberg Agriculture Spot Index, a gauge of nine crop prices, has risen 28% since late April to its highest level in more than four years. Wheat earlier this week was the most expensive since 2014. Climate change is threatening violence against the human race, and millions will experience in their bellies.

The U.K.’s worst wheat harvest in about 40 years has prompted fears of higher prices of flour, and subsequently of bread and other flour-based products. We are entering a Grand Solar Minimum. Crops are always the first to go. And our modern delicately balanced, chemical-dependent, mono-cropping-ways simply aren’t prepared for a violent shift in the climate. Robert Felix has long been warning, “I fear that we will be fighting in the streets for food long before we’re covered by ice.”

Sixty-three million people in China have been affected by flooding and 15 million acres of farmland destroyed — an area the size of West Virginia. In official statements, the government has placed the floods on the same level as the coronavirus pandemic when describing shocks to China this year.

The Climate Narrative Collapses

It is cooling! And to confirm that, just step outside. Below you will read the weather history from the last four months. If global warming were real, it would still be feeling like summer, being, as they say, the hottest it has ever been in modern history. Almost 300 million Americans are experiencing cold weather when it should be warm.

The same people who are fanatic about global warming have destroyed the world’s economy for no reason. Its official, lockdowns are not the way to go, says the World Health Organization, and blocking the sunlight to ward off the heat makes no sense at all in a cooling world.

End of Summer Climate/Weather History

We read on August 22 that temperatures were already dropping below freezing in Russia. There was frost in the Moscow region even though it is still summer. In the Kostroma region, frosts in the grass went down to -1 degrees, observed for the third day in a row. At the same time, China had a midsummer blizzard.

On August 7, the coldest temperature ever recorded in Tasmania was registered. Not just for the date and not just for the particular location, but the coldest for any date on record, and the entire country. Temperatures dropped to -14.2C (6.4F), a new record low for the state, and even colder than Antarctica. On August 10 Lake Toko in Siberia smashed its daily low record with a temperature of -9.8C (17F)! The previous low for August 7 was -3.2C (26.2F) in 1990.

Summer suddenly ended in the Dagestani village of Kurush. It started snowing as the air temperature dropped. Strange things are happening with the climate around the world. For the first time since record-keeping began in 1973, South Korea’s average temperature in July was LOWER than that in June, according to Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) data.

Summer is ending, and it is not surprising that the temperature dropped to -8°C in Yakutsk. The fall season arrived in the Republic earlier this year. As of the second half of August, the average daily temperature was 2 to 4 degrees below the norm. Summer will not return to Yakutia this year, and by the end of August, the air temperature in the Republic, as well as in the Magadan region, are below normal.

Summer Snow Hits the Mountain States

On the last day of August, a string of cold fronts are engulfing much of the North American continent bringing well-below average temperatures, scattered thunderstorms, and even summer snow to the mountain states. What we are seeing is the mercury as much as 14C below normal in many central U.S. states: particularly in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. Canada’s Saskatchewan and Manitoba provinces are also on-track for a bout of record-breaking cold as well.

Rare Summer Snow Hits China

“Snowing in June” is an old Chinese proverb meaning that something so brutal and outrageous has occurred that the heavens want to show their indignance by dropping freezing snow on to the Earth even in the summer as a token of punishment. It is still August, and, at least for some of China’s mountainous regions, unexpected summer snow is still falling.

More than a foot of snow in three different states fell by September 10.  Autumn was still a week away. Two States in the U.S. reported their earliest snowfall on record. The most significant snowfall at the end of summer was set in Casper, Wyoming — which recorded a total of 17 inches of snowfall. HUNDREDS of low-temperature records tumbled across the United States at the end of the first week of September as brutal Arctic air sank anomalously-far south. Are we to believe that this is the face of global warming?

“On Labor Day, September 7, 2020, the high temperature was expected to be 91 degrees F (32.8C). On Tuesday, September 8, the high was 37 degrees F (2.8C), and the low was 27 degrees F (-2.8C) with 4.1 inches (10.4cm) of snow on the ground.” Denver had its earliest freeze on record. Record cold and snow fell in South Dakota, Kansas City smashed a cold record set more than 100 years ago, but all we have to worry about is a virus.

“Historic July cold was registered in Sweden.” The coldest month of July in almost 60 years. Norway also suffered its ‘Coldest Summer for 60 Years.’ Several cold records shattered in The Netherlands in July, where it has never been colder since the start of the measurements.

The sun has been blank for 32 days and counting,
which sees it enter the SIDC record books as one
of the longest’ periods with spotless days’ since 1849.

NOOA has published projected sunspot activity data that shows a ‘full-blown’ Grand Solar Minimum running from the late-2020s to the 2040s (at least). This  confirms a new paper from professor Valentina Zharkova, entitled: “Modern Grand Solar Minimum will Lead to Terrestrial Cooling.”

Cold Is More Dangerous Than Heat

A new U.S. study finds that cold weather is responsible for most temperature-related deaths in Illinois. From the Lancet, we read, “Cold weather kills 20 times as many people as hot weather, according to an international study analyzing over 74 million deaths in 384 locations across 13 countries.”

When exactly did the AngloZionist Empire collapse?, by The Saker - The Unz Review (Text only)

What took place next was precisely what my SAIS friends and I could never have imagined: the US ruling elites committed collective suicide.

I remember one evening in distant 1991, I was sitting with a few friends in the SAIS cafeteria discussing the future of the United States with a few very smart students, including a Pakistani Army Colonel, a US captain who served on aircraft carriers and a Spanish diplomat: we all agreed that “the system” was perfect, so to speak, and that the US would only collapse if a strong external shock would hit it hard. We all agreed that the combination of the best propaganda machine in history, the stupidification resulting from many daily hours of watching the Idiot Tube and, finally, a very effective repression apparatus made for a quasi perfect dictatorship: the one which only gives the illusion of democracy and people power.

Years later, in 2017, I read by J.M. Greer’s brilliant book “Twilight’s Last Gleaming” which I later reviewed here. I would say that this book is one of the best one written on the topic of a future US collapse, even though this is a (very well written) fiction book because it brilliantly illustrates the kind of mindset which can get a supposed superpower in a very bad situation.

To me, this all made perfect sense, but only because I, and my SAIS friends, never even considered the possibility that the US Nomenklatura would commit national suicide and, in the process, bring down the AngloZionist Empire.

Yet this is exactly what happened.

So when did all this begin?

There are many possible answers to this question. Some say with the murder of Kennedy. Others point to Clinton, whose Presidency inaugurated a policy of armed imperialism all over the planet; this administration was also the first one to witness a major “coming out” of the Neocons (many of which had already infiltrated the GOP during Reagan). Then there is 9/11 with the subsequent GWOT. As I said, these are all valid candidates, and there are many more.

My personal view is that the main initiation of collapse was under Barack Obama, a truly exceptionally weak President who would have made an absolutely terrific used cars salesman, but who as a President lost control of his own country and even his own administration. It was under Obama that we saw the vacuum at the top resulting in various agencies (DoS, DoD, CIA, Pentagon, etc.) all developing their own “foreign policies” which resulted in total chaos on the foreign policy front. Needless to say, having harpies such as Hillary Clinton or Susan Rice or Samantha Power involved did not help!

What is it with western women which makes them become even more bellicose than men when they reach a position of power?! Looking at women like Thatcher or Hillary, I wonder if these women are not carefully selected precisely for their nasty character and need to prove themselves as “equal” to men by being even more nasty and murderous than male politicians…

Since his election, it has become very popular to blame Donald Trump for everything which went wrong under his Presidency and, indeed, there is much which ought to be blamed on him. But what so many people overlook is that almost everything which went wrong under Trump began with Obama! When Trumps says that he inherited an awful mess, he is absolutely correct. Not that this absolves him from his own contribution to chaos and collapse!

And, in truth, the biggest difference between Obama and Trump, is that Trump did not start any real wars. Yes, he did threaten a lot of countries with military attacks (itself a crime under international law), but he never actually gave the go ahead to meaningfully attack (he only tried some highly symbolic and totally ineffective strikes in Syria). I repeat – the man was one of the very few US Presidents who did not commit the crime of aggression, the highest possible crime under international law, above crimes against humanity or even genocide, because the crime of aggression “contains within itself the accumulated evil”, to use the words words of the chief US prosecutor at Nuremberg and Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, Robert H. Jackson. I submit that just for this reason alone any decent person should choose him over Biden (who himself is just a front for “President” Harris and a puppet of the Clinton gang). Either that, or don’t vote at all if your conscience does not allow you to vote for Trump. But voting Biden is unthinkable for any honest person, at least in my humble opinion.

In the Trump years something absolutely amazing happened: while Trump and his administration were busy destroying the Empire externally, the Dems put all the energy and resources into destroying Trump. However, to paraphrase a quote by the Russian author Zinoviev, “they targeted at Trump but they hit the United States” (Zinoviev’s quote was about the putative anti-Soviets: “Метили в коммунизм, а попали в Россию” which can be translated as “they were aiming at Communism, but they hit Russia”).

What took place next was precisely what my SAIS friends and I could never have imagined: the US ruling elites committed collective suicide.

Suicide is typically executed in three phases: decision to commit suicide, the act of suicide itself, and then death. If we accept that the decision to engage in behavior which can only be described as suicidal was taken sometime during the Obama years, then this begs the question of where we are now. In other words, has the Empire already died or is it still only in agony?

I was asking myself that question the other day when I suddenly realized that I might have determined the exact moment when the Empire collapsed: 8 January 2020.

What happened that day? Following the murder of Major General Qasem Soleimani in a US drone attack (on the 3 of January 2020) the Iranians retaliated by using missiles to attack several US bases in Iraq. According to the US side, there were only minor injuries, which is very likely since the Iranians warned the US by several backdoor channels what they were planning on doing. This argument was used by Trump and his supporters to say that the Iranian reaction was lame, ineffective and could be completely ignored.

In my opinion, the moment when the Trump Administration made this statement is when the death certificate of the Empire was signed. Why?

First, the low number of US casualties (probably higher than the official one, US troops were evacuated and treated in several countries) is due to only to the fact that Iranians are superb strategists: they realized that killing a lot of US soldiers would force Trump to strongly retaliate, so they chose not to kill them. Instead, they put a gun to their collective heads. How?

Think about it: the Iranian counter-strike showed the entire world something which most people did not realize: Iranian missiles (ballistic and cruise) were much more accurate than previously thought. In fact, they clearly have some form of terminal guidance. Simply put, the Iranians have proven that they can very precisely, deliver a warhead of several hundred pounds of high explosives pretty much anywhere in the Middle East. To give you a visual idea of their current coverage check out this page.

This bears repeating: the Iranians have now proven that they can place several hundred pounds of high explosives anywhere in the Middle-East with a CEP of about 3-5 meters!

Remember the Khobar Towers bombing? Yes, this was a truck bomb with much more explosives than a missile can carry (by at least an order of magnitude), but that truck was also parked far away from the towers! Yet just under 500 people died that day.

There are plenty of similar US military installations in the Middle-East, many buildings housing hundreds of US servicemen. Just imagine what would have happened if the Iranians had decided to take out as many lives as possible and placed a couple of their missiles right on top of, say, 10 such facilities – just imagine the cost in lives!

But the Iranians are smart, and they chose a much wiser course of action: they used their missiles essentially to kick Uncle Shmuel where it hurts, but they mainly demonstrated their ability to create thousands of US casualties in just a few minutes.

Obviously, another, now undeniable, Iranian capability is the ability to instantly destroy any gas/oil facility in the region: wells, processing facilities, terminals – you name it: if it is important and expensive, the Iranians can destroy it.

The Iranians also have the ability to close down the Strait of Hormuz and even to attack USN ships, possibly including carriers.

Last, but certainly not least, this now proven Iranian capability puts every government building in danger, along with any crucial facility (Dimona anybody?).

At this point of the conversation all the well-propagandized flag-waving morons will immediately stand up and declare something along these lines:

“So what?! If these sand-niggers cross the line they know that we can massively bomb them! Heck, we can even nuke them and send them back to the stone age! Let them try and they will see what the wrath of the most powerful nation on earth, with the most formidable military in history, can do to a bunch of semi-literate peasants, LOL! Let see if their “Allah” will save them!”

Apart from all the ignorant cliches typically spewed by this crowd, there is a major analytical error underlying this “logic” (I use the term generously): the Iranians have lived with this threat since 1979 and they are used to it. Not only that, but they know for a fact that these are empty threats. Oh sure, the US can do to Iran what “Israel” did to Lebanon in the course of the “Divine Victory” war of 2006, or what NATO has done to Serbia during the Kosovo war (1998-1999): kill civilians and destroy the country’s infrastructure to punish these civilians for supporting the “wrong” (i.e. not US approved) government. But if Uncle Shmuel does to Iran what Israel did to Lebanon, the result will be the same: the Iranians will rebuild (they are very good at that) and they will bounce back twice as strong. As for their martyrs, the more there will be, the stronger the Iranian people’s resistance (check this article written by an Iranian scholar in excellent English explaining the roots of the unique ethos of Shia Islam).

Last, but also not least, the US Presidents and their aides are quite aware of the current state of the US military: it is a military which simply cannot win even simple conflicts, a military hopelessly gutted by insane liberal ideologies, a military whose entire surface fleet has been made obsolete by hypersonic missiles (which the Iranians also seem to be working on!) and a military whose Air Force spent absolutely obscene amounts of money to create a supposedly “5th generation” fighter which in many ways is inferior to US 4th generation aircraft!

This begs the question of what still works in the US military. In my opinion, the US submarine fleet is still very powerful, and the US nuclear deterrence posture is still solid. Other than that? Meh…

Bottom line: the arguments that the US did not retaliate because it did not care, or that it does not care because “we can nuke them” are typically civilian nonsense which have no connection whatsoever to the real world (just imagine the political consequences for the already highly unpopular US following a nuclear strike, especially on a non-nuclear country!)

Okay, but then why did the US not retaliate?

Simply put, because Uncle Shmuel does not have what it takes to take on Iran. Heck, Uncle Shmuel can’t even take on Venezuela (!), which is an extremely weakened country right on the US’s door step. Frankly, if this or the next President decides that the US needs to “pick up a crappy little country and throw it against a wall just to prove we are serious” then I recommend Grenada. I know, Grenada was basically undefended in 1983 (mainly by a few lightly armed Cuban engineers) and it took the 82nd airborne to rescue the totally defeated and clueless US special forces stuck under fire, but I think that since 1983 the Pentagon had the time to make a some “lessons learned” exercises and that by now the US probably could re-invade this tiny island without repeating one of the worst disasters in military history.

Conclusion

The Empire died on the day the Iranians hit these US facilities and the US did absolutely nothing. In fact, since that date, what have we seen:

·   The Iraqis are slowly but surely kicking the US forces out of Iraq

·   The number of attacks against US forces in Iraq has sharply increased, including against the massive US bunker complex known as “the Green Zone” which now is not “green” at all.

·   The Iranians are merrily continuing to make fun of Uncle Shmuel.

·   The US failed at renewing the anti-Iran sanctions at the UN Security Council and Russia has already declared that she is willing to sell S-400s to Iran. You can also count China in this great weapons market.

·   The US is also in retreat in Syria where anti-US attacks are becoming more dangerous (and regular clashes with ground forces of the Russian task force in Syria are also becoming a potentially very dangerous phenomenon).

·   In Yemen, the Iranian backed Houthis have basically won the war and defeated both the KSA and the US.

·   In Afghanistan, the US and its “coalition of the losers” has stayed even longer than the Soviets and has achieved exactly nothing except a total and most humiliating defeat. The contrast between the performance of the Soviet 40th Army (poorly equipped and averagely commanded) force of conscripts and what the lavishly equipped (but also poorly commanded) US professional force achieved is absolutely amazing on all levels, but the most telling is how much the Soviets actually built in Afghanistan (even facilities that the US still uses every day!). Uncle Shmuel only destroyed everything except the opium trade…

In other words, everything is going exactly according to the announced Iranian game plan to completely kick the US out of the Middle-East. I know, this seems unthinkable right now, but please make the list of all the putatively “unthinkable” things which have since happened and you will see how dangerous it is to assume that something will never happen.

When Georgia attacked the Russian peacekeepers in Tskhinval there were also limited casualties, but Russia immediately counter-attacked defeated in Georgian military in 3 days, and that in spite of being numerically smaller (at least in the initial phases of the counter-attack) and too slow to react (a typical Russian weakness). And the message to “to whom it may concern” sent by the Russian counter-attack was simple: attack a Russian base, or kill Russian soldiers and you will be killed: every time a Russian serviceman has been killed in Syria the Russians retaliate with strong missiles and air strikes. In other instances Russian Spetsnaz units killed selective Takfiri commanders. And everybody “got it”, even the Turks who have not been able to force the Russian to stop shrinking their areas of control in Syria to a small fraction of what it used to be.

Mind you – Russia has no desire to become an Empire or even some kind of superpower (Russians realize how evil any empire is for the country which is supposed to host it: they suffered for over 300 years in this toxic status of “empire” and they had enough! Only dumb Hillary and even dumber Brzezinski still thought that Russia wanted to “rebuild the USSR” when, in fact, Putin’s policies were designed to disengage and separate from the former Russian periphery which only drained immense Russian resources and never gave Russia anything useful (and never mind the Warsaw Treaty Organization which was just as resources-consuming and useless as the periphery). All they want is being taken seriously and treated with respect, not as a superpower, but simply as a major, but truly sovereign, power.

Compare that with the unique blend of stratospheric megalomania, narcissistic self-worship and crass ignorance of the leaders of the US and you immediately see that the Empire is not dying anymore, it is already dead and has been dead for many months now.

What comes next?

Well, the election of course. I submit that under no scenario will the next administration be able to reverse that course and somehow miraculously resurrect the Empire. Empires don’t resurrect. It has been tried in the past (even by Napoleon), it never works. Once empires lose momentum and, especially, their ideological credibility, they are over. Oh sure, a dead body still can emit some heat for a while, some organs, or even cells, can work for a while longer, but dead is dead. Mostly dead bodies bloat and stink, which also applies to dead empires.

This is not to say that the outcome will not matter, it will – but only for the future of the United States themselves. Simply put, the upcoming vote is either a vote for upholding law and order in the US, or for total nihilism. On a deeper level, it is a vote for the US or against it: the Dems all hate this country and its “deplorables”; they also hate almost every aspect of US history (overturned statues are but symbols of this hatred) and they hate what they call “a racist system” in spite of the fact that the real causes of racial tensions in the US have very little to do with the “system” and everything to do with the unique problems of blacks in a culture with mainly European roots.

The Empire is dead. And I hope and believe that its death will mark the rebirth of the United States as a “normal” country (which is what happened to all the other former empires).

Until that happens, we can now at least rest assured that this amazingly evil Empire has finally died, even if very few noticed this.

P.S. While writing this column my thoughts turned to Major General Qasem Soleimani, who was cowardly murdered (he was on a diplomatic mission) by Trump. I imagined what he would have said if somebody had offered him the following deal: Haj Qasem – would you agree to be murdered by the modern Crusaders if your martyrdom would turn out to be the “straw” which will break the Empire’s “camel” back? I think that he would reply with tears of joy in his eyes “Glory be to God for allowing me this immense honor and joy and for allowing me to become a shadid (God’s witness)!” Soleimani was a soldier, the real thing, not a disguised businessman or politician, and he knew that he could die literally every moment of his life. He died as a general in charge of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and of its elite Quds Force. It sure looks to me that Trump in his ignorant arrogance gave Soleimani the best death he could have wished for. May this great man rest in peace!
