This is a very good example of why it’s absolutely vital for women to pull themselves out of the mode where they just go along to get along in order to secure social approval.
There are things that are much more important than social approval. And if your husband, or your father, or a trusted male friend is vehemently telling you to go against your urge to go with the flow, you should probably just listen to him.
