Sperm Count Drop Could Make Us Extinct - By Dr. Mark Sircus

Men’s sperm have been decreasing in number and getting worse at swimming for some time now—and, at least in the United States and Europe, new research says it’s getting worse. Daniel Noah Halpern writes, A strange thing has happened to men over the past few decades: We’ve become increasingly infertile, so much so that within a generation we may lose the ability to reproduce entirely. Men are doomed. Everybody knows this. We’re obviously all doomed, the women too, everybody in general, just a waiting game until one or another of the stupid things our stupid species is up to finally gets us. But as it turns out, no surprise: men first. Second instance of no surprise: We’re going to take the women down with us.”
In July of 2017 the BBC reported that, “Humans could become extinct if sperm counts in men continue to fall at current rates.” Researchers assessing the results of nearly 200 studies say sperm counts among men from North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, seem to have halved in less than 40 years. Dr Hagai Levine, an epidemiologist, told the BBC that if the trend continued humans would become extinct.
“If we will not change the ways that we are living and the environment and the chemicals that we are exposed to, I am very worried about what will happen in the future,” Levine said. “Eventually we may have a problem, and with reproduction in general, and it may be the extinction of the human species.

Fertility clinics report that the number of healthy sperm produced by clients is dropping almost 2 per cent each year. The decline in quality has been seen among sperm donors as well as those seeking fertility treatment. Sperm counts in men from America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand have dropped by more than 50 percent in less than 40 years.
Research scientists say that the rate of decline is not slowing. Both findings — in a meta-analysis bringing together various studies — pointed to a potential decline in male health and fertility.
“This study is an urgent wake-up call for researchers and health authorities around the world to investigate the causes of the sharp ongoing drop in sperm count,” said Hagai Levine, who co-led the work at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine in Jerusalem.
Falling sperm counts have previously been linked to various factors such as exposure to certain chemicals and pesticides, smoking, stress and obesity. This suggests measures of sperm quality may reflect the impact of modern living on male health and act as a “canary in the coal mine” signaling broader health risks.
The results, published in the journal Human Reproduction Update, showed a 52.4 percent decline in sperm concentration and a 59.3 percent decline in total sperm count among North American, European, Australian and New Zealand men.
Two years after these studies and devastating reports were released we read in The Guardian, “Sales of synthetic chemicals will double over the next 12 years with alarming implications for health and the environment, according to a global study that highlights government failures to rein in the industry behind plastics, pesticides and cosmetics. The fastest growth was in construction materials, electronics, textiles and lead batteries. More and more additives are also being used to make plastics smoother or more durable.
Depending on the chemical and degree of exposure, the risks can include cancer, chronic kidney disease and congenital anomalies.” They forgot to say all this is catastrophic in terms of men’s sperm counts.
Global chemical production has almost doubled since 2000. Despite the negative effects, humanity is increasingly dependent on synthetic chemicals. According to the UN, output will grow seven times faster than the global population between 1990 and 2030.
A Complete Mystery?
Yet we read headlines, ‘The U.S. fertility rate has taken a nose dive and why is a complete mystery.’ The latest figures show a record low birth rate last year, for the second straight year in a row. The trouble is, researchers aren’t sure why. In 2017, there were a mere 60.2 births per 1,000 women of childbearing age (ages 15-44). That means the overall fertility rate dropped 2% from 2016. This is the lowest level since 1978. These figures come from the National Center for Health Statistics.
It is only a mystery to those who want it to be a mystery. By the time they figure it out we will all be dead. We are not winning any awards in the intelligence department when it comes to what is happening here on earth. There is no doubt that we are in the midst of very dangerous times. We are on track to void our species entirely, and with us most of life on earth yet we squabble about the most petty things.
Are Men Essential?
Men will continue to be essential to the survival of the species so if they fail, if they lose their sperm, that’s the end of us. Sure some think that modern medicine will save the day with innovation.  A new technology known as IVG—in vitro gametogenesis—is showing  promise at turning embryonic stem cells into sperm. In 2016, Japanese scientists created baby mice by fertilizing normal mouse eggs with sperm created via IVG. The stem cells in question were taken from female mice. There was no need for any males.
So maybe we men are not going to be so essential, but when the entire financial system collapse where will that leave expensive approaches to medicine? The bells of doom are ringing but most only listen to the ring tones of the cell phones every day. We don’t have to wait for an alien invasion, our fate as a race seems already sealed.
This is all very depressing but we, as individuals cannot let it get us down. Yes we live in the age of apocalypse and there is little we can do about it. But we can do something about our consciousness, we can love more and be more.

Meanwhile students globally are protesting man-made global warming. Students are pleaded for their lives, future and planet demanding tough action on climate change. Whoever is organizing these young people are manipulating them, not informing them that they are actually living on a cooling world, that there are six horsemen of climate change and all of them are cooling, that independent of coal and oil use we are still polluting the planet forcing almost everyone to breathe toxic air, suffer through increasing amounts of radiation in the environment and in medical clinics and hospitals, and even being forced by  governments and doctors to suffer injections of toxic chemicals directly into the blood.
We have psychopaths running the show here on our planet meaning world leadership is full of crap, crashing our ship of life, on earth we fail type of story. Even those who built the Stone Hedge in Georgia, that huge place of carved stone that just dreams of when their will be only about 500,000 of us left. That seems optimistic in terms of terminal sperm counts that are taking hold of the future of our race.
However, none of this might matter in a world on the brink of a new world war that could easily go nuclear, which would provide for  a much quicker end to the human race. And so many of us are going to die of the cold, and lack of food, when the grand solar minimum kicks in over the next two to three years. And who is going to survive the end of MasterCard or Visa when the financial system goes up in smoke?
But men’s sperm, such precious liquid that the future of the human race depends on. Can our sperm just disappear off the planet leaving us stranded to just wait to the end of our time? The end of human history.
No matter which way we look at it we are going to witness a dramatic reduction of the human flock. Certainly more will be made homeless as the next recession dials us up and the banks steal even more of our wealth. But again our real tears are for the disappearance of sperm. Our sperms are leaving us in mass and they have been doing that for decades with little notice being taken.
We can find mainstream conjecture about the why of our sperm loss and there is medical truth in the below causes. When we look at the first two principle causes we really need to look at why we have so much obesity and diabetes, their underlying causes, and is anyone going to do anything to reverse the worsening trends of these and other diseases? No, so down we go.
1) Obesity
2) Diabetes
3) Smoking
4) Alcohol
5) Drug Use
6) Hot Tubs and Saunas
7) Boxers vs. Briefs
Modern Medicine as a Cause
Just look at how many millions modern medicine has killed in the last 19 years. Count them! How come pharmaceutical companies are not on the main list of causes? If so many millions perish from all the deadly pharmaceuticals dished out by poison loving doctors and nurses how much is the industry contributing to depression the sperm counts of men? They certainly are administering enough radiation for their diagnostic tests.
