One of the hard things to accept about the SSH is the fact that once men are sufficiently familiar with it, they think that their intellectual understanding of the concepts involved somehow gives them complete control over their reflexive instincts and unconscious behavioral patterns.
Gammas, in particular, seem prone to describing how they have mastered their negative patterns and transformed themselves into something new. The problem is that no matter how well they control their behavior and no matter what positive results they get from their self-discipline, sooner or later the thought-channels engraved in their formative years are triggered and cause them to revert to their former selves.
