Now imagine the same thing at the grocery store. No prices on the shelf. You get to the checkout counter and there's a scale you can't see under it. You're weighed, asked for your form of payment which you must scan first in their terminal and then your health insurance company card has to be scanned next. Then you scan the groceries -- but again, no prices show up as you drag each across the scanner. Only when you get to your car does your phone bing to tell you how much you just got charged and once again, you can't refuse because you've left the store with the products. Oh by the way, the person with an EBT card or Medicaid paid 1/5th as much for their groceries as you did and -- surprise -- every grocery store in or near your town all got together and they're all doing the same thing.
