 By now you all have heard of the Great Reset, the Satanic plan of people like Klaus Schwab, Bill Gates and the guy who definitely didn’t kill himself to depopulate the planet and enslave the survivors into a dystopian horror.

And some have also heard the Q-like panacea that “all will be well” because according to some information released by a “whistleblower” in the 1990s, no matter what the globohomo masters of the world do, project Looking Glass (a supercomputer/quantum computer/PSI enhanced thingymajigabob) predicted that an explosion of human consciousness would be inevitable and thus ultimately foil the plans of the evil pedovores running things.

Even if we assume that project Looking Glass exists/ed and/or is real and it really did predict all that… most humans then do exactly what the Q-psyops did: you just relax buddy, no need for you to do anything! Patriots/whitehats/magicians in charge will fix everything while you just keep your ever-expanding arse right there on that couch and binge on your next netflix gender-bender inclusive series.

Well, I have bad news for you. If a Great Awakening is going to happen it’s as a result of two things:

1. You, yes YOU specifically. You the person reading this sentence right now, getting off your comfortable, lazy, don’t-wanna-know, stagnant mental pond, and start working your brain. Yes your brain. And start habituating it to some concepts you have AVOIDED all your life in order to protect your own mental COMFORT. (Yes, physical too, but the root and far more important issue is the mental comfort).

2. Morphic resonance. Morphic resonance is a thing, I wrote about almost 30 years ago, in my book, The Face on Mars, but you can google it and as long as you get the information from Rupert Sheldrake, you can figure it out more or less. My own work on it has been to try to figure out what percentage of a population needs to exhibit the trait in order to cause a mass-effect tipping point. And it is not a straight forward answer because I think the process is fractal (which is good, because if so, it can happen quite fast if enough people get ability X) but in general terms I have concluded it’s about 1/1000 of the population.

Since “population” can be thought of from utterly global (all humanity) to local (my immediate family) the scale is not perfect, but in terms of getting things moving you could think of it as:

One person in a family is an event.

Two people in a family doing it, one having influenced the other) is a tipping point for say a family of 5-6 or even say 7 people, but probably not for a family of 20-30 resistant people.

And so on… hopefully you get the idea.

So… what exactly would I have you DO to spark off the mass awakening?

I could write a few hundred pages to answer that, but no one would read them, and the ones who did wouldn’t put any of it into practice. So let’s try for efficiently achievable for anyone that cares to actually WANT to be part of the solution instead of dead weight, a zombie, a brainwashed slave, or simply dead because they gave up.

This is what you need to do:

1. Face the horrible realities that are actually facts you have avoided knowing about. I have done this brutally since my early 20s so am used to it now, but it is a rude shock when you first start. The Delingpole post Vox referred to here also put it this way:

But isn’t that part of the problem with horrors like child trafficking, adrenochrome harvesting and ritual Satanic abuse? It’s so truly hideous we’d rather look away and pretend it didn’t exist. We put our own mental security, in other words, before the interests of all those tortured children.

Yes, that IS the problem. You need to face this ugly, evil, crap. But… you also need to do the second thing:

2. Use it as fuel. The anger, the sadness, the utter horror of it, use it as fuel to power the thing that WILL actually make things change. You know what that is? It’s the real engine of the Great Awakening if one is ever going to happen and it is simply this:

The conscious, chosen, known, reality that given the level of evil that exists, you will not, and cannot, ever:

1. Act as if you don’t know. Turn a blind eye to it. Pretend all is well when it isn’t. Or ever participate in anything that furthers, promotes, or somehow encourages that evil, no matter the cost, and,

2. And this is the most important part; you cannot EVER, live in despair, defeat, nihilism, depression, feeling overwhelmed, let the weight of the evil drag you down and make you miserable and thus also make life miserable for those around you, letting them perceive your mental, spiritual, physical, general oppression as a weight that crushes them too. You need to CONSCIOUSLY, CHOOSE, listen to me, CHOOSE, with your own free will, CHOOSE, to be a light of inspiration, hope, power, freedom, happiness, faith and love. And you can’t fake it. Saying “You have a wonderful day now!” While flashing your fake teeth, in your botoxed face, while bouncing on air-filled shoes to make you look “sporty” so your barbie-like plastic tits “bounce” sexily, through your smoothing filter on tik-tok, while not meaning a word of it because your soul is shrivelled inside, won’t do it. Won’t fool anyone. And does nothing for you. Those people are already in hell.

Listen to me now, it doesn’t matter if your back is hurting, you’re out of money, things are bad, your health is bad, your credit is bad and you’re worrying about just getting to the next day.

And by “it doesn’t matter” I don’t mean you ignore the things and pretend all is well. No. You do what needs doing, but you CONSCIOUSLY smile at everything worthwhile. You CONSCIOUSLY notice EVERY ONE of the million things in a day you can let affect you positively. Sometimes even the negative things can be positives. “My back hurts” becomes “Oh, I need to set 10 minutes a day for exercises”.

We all need to work and do things that are unpleasant. So make them pleasant. More importantly, YOU become pleasant. Become pleasant to yourself first. Be the kind of mind and person you WANT hanging around inside your own head. Then become it for others too.

Do the work. Do the things. And remain clear in your mind, your heart, your soul, that in NO WAY will you go down into despair, because that means the child-raping and baby-torturing and murdering pedophile cannibals that do exist, and do run the world of things, win.

And are you going to let those fucking evil monsters win?

Even if they should cut me down in pieces, I am going down with a genuine smile on my face or the just and divine rage of the innocents unleashed on them, and taking as many of them down with me as it is possible to take. And never, ever, will I submit to any of their dystopian plans.

And no, I do not live in constant rage, or anxiety. Because your internal emotional state matters. In the “physics” of the metaphysical, or even just the physics of morphic resonance, which is a thing no honest scientist can now deny with decades of reproducible, undeniable, proof for it, your internal state is what matters.

What really matters.

Why do you think they did the scamdemic? And the isolation? And the CONSTANT fear and depression porn and the CONSTANT austerity measures and collapsing economy?

Because it puts you in an internal state of perennial alarm, fear, anxiety. Do you think a whole species put into that state just suddenly, spontaneously, “Great awakens”?

No.

YOU need to be the spark. Yes, YOU.

Not me, not some other guy or girl. You.

You, every day, you.

I am already doing my part. Been doing it all my life in my own misanthropic way (which is wrong, by the way) and it always served me well-enough, but not now. Now it needs to ramp up to include others too. To teach them to stay upright in any storm. And how. And in what way. Because merely staying upright is not enough now. I too need to evolve. And I am, but don’t you worry about what *I* am doing.

Because what matters here and now, is not me. It’s you. You and how you affect those around you. You.

So awaken, buddy. Now.

Not later, not when you “are ready”, not when you just get this one thing done. Now.

Right now.

Czebotar names names – most of which, for obvious reasons, I’ve had to cut out. But if you want the short version it goes like this: almost every famous person in the world is quite literally working for the devil. Presidents, pop idols, movie stars, central bankers [dur, obviously], senior politicians, royals, etc: if you know their name they are in the game.

What I find fascinating about those who deny the Biblical description of our fallen world – and even most self-professed Christians do – is the way in which even when people who have taken the ticket, who have participated in the rituals, and who are openly testifying to what they have witnessed, the default position is to claim that the world cannot possibly be otherwise than it is described on television.

Whether or not Delingpole’s guest is telling the truth or is merely another psychological operation meant to discredit those who correctly perceive the evils of this world is irrelevant. The more you simply open your eyes and observe without prejudice or preconception, the more you will see and understand.

The fools of the world love to declare “there is no evidence” even when they are staring directly at irrefutable and conclusive proof. But the weight of the evidence, when seen through the lens of history, is absolutely staggering. And the provable fact of the matter is that nearly everything you were taught, from the innocent English settlers being forced to seize land from savage Indian tribes to the need to drop atomic bombs to force the Japanese to surrender to the assassination of President Kennedy to Iraqi weapons of mass destruction to the inevitable Ukrainian victory in the Donbass, has been an absolute lie.

If, at this point, you still don’t believe in evil, real spiritual evil that acts in the material world as described in the Bible, you are consciously averting your eyes.

Or so Czebotar says. But it could be all made up. Or heavily embroidered. Or completely, terrifyingly true. I honestly don’t know the answer because, by its very nature, this alleged ‘insider’ information is all but impossible to verify.

I mean, if many of the world’s most famous people really are practising satanists - and have been since forever - they must have got very good at hiding the fact. And presumably there are terrible penalties for anyone who recants and spills the beans - which does rather make you wonder how come Czebotar is still around, breaching the Illuminati omerta, unless you accept her explanation that it’s because she is protected by God.

Anyway, as always with my podcasts, I leave it up to you, the viewer and listener, to make up your own mind. For the most part, I just sit there, gobsmacked, while Czebotar tells me her story. As anyone familiar with my podcasts ought to be aware by now, I don’t much like arguing with my guests unless they really, really annoy me. I’ve never been a fan of the adversarial approach taken by organisations like the BBC. Generally, I prefer these encounters to be conversations rather than interrogations. I like my guests to be as comfortable as they possibly can, while giving them enough rope to hang themselves - should that be what they wish to do.

Some people, I know, will get angry at me for not pressing Czebotar hard enough. Or for releasing the podcast at all.

But I do wonder whether there might be an underlying reason for that.

You see, while I’m fairly sure that not everything Czebotar says can possibly be true - How do fallen angels still get to wander in and out of heaven? How do Mothers of Darkness gain access, even telepathically, to God’s throne room? - I think there’s just too much authentic detail for it all to have been made up.

Let’s remind ourselves of some of the things we do know. Ritual Satanic abuse definitely exists; child-trafficking is one of the world’s biggest and lucrative industries; both Hollywood and the music industry appear to require their stars to make pacts with the devil - and show their allegiance to him by flashing Illuminati symbols in promo videos and suchlike; adrenochrome is not a conspiracy theory; paedophilic sex videos - and worse - are commonly used to blackmail senior politicians into compliance.

It accords with scripture too. As Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians, the devil is the ‘god of this world.’

So all Czebotar is doing is fleshing out - in often quite remarkable detail - stuff we already know to be true.

And I think sometimes, when people respond dismissively to testimony like Czebotar’s, they are using their annoyance and scepticism as a psychological comfort blanket.

That is, they are naturally so upset - as we all are - by the thought of what happens to children in those satanic ceremonies that they find it easier simply to shoot the messenger.

I said at the beginning that I felt Czebotar had told me stuff that I wasn’t sure I wanted to know.

But isn’t that part of the problem with horrors like child trafficking, adrenochrome harvesting and ritual Satanic abuse? It’s so truly hideous we’d rather look away and pretend it didn’t exist. We put our own mental security, in other words, before the interests of all those tortured children.

The Ten Commandments of the Modern Secular State - BY GARY DEMAR

The following is an application of the Ten Commandments and how they’ve been coopted by the secularists. I tackled many of these worldview issues in my book God and Government that makes the point that government is not synonymous with politics. It would make a great Christmas gift for your pastor.

In the December 2023 issue of Ligonier’s Tabletalk devotional, Gene Edward Veith has a helpful article titled “Catechized by Culture.” Presbyterians are big on catechisms. They mostly deal with fundamental biblical doctrines. For example, the first question of the Shorter Catechism of the Westminster Standards is “What is the chief end of man?” Vieth supplies the answer: “Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.” The answer given in the secular culture catechism is “People’s chief end is to glorify themselves, and to enjoy themselves until they die.” The major difference between the two catechisms is that while some Christians might teach the catechism or refer to it periodically, the secular catechism is taught and applied 24/7.

One of the shortcomings of so much theological teaching today is that it’s limited in scope and application. Rarely do you find sermons that spend time on how the Bible applies to what’s happening in our culture and how to fix it. To be honest, most if not all catechisms do not address issues like economics, government overreach, education, taxation, monetary policy, the dangers of wealth distribution, and many other real-world issues that the Bible addresses. How many more debates, articles, and books do we need on baptism?

The following is an application of the Ten Commandments and how they’ve been coopted by the secularists. God and Government

John Wycliffe of Oxford University produced the first hand-written translation of the New Testament into English in the 14th Century, he wrote in the preface: “The Bible is given for the government of the people, by the people, and for the people.” The Bible was not given only for religious people of a particular theological persuasion; it was designed to be a standard for everyone and every government—self-, family, church, and civil. This is why you will find the Ten Commandments in American law and government from its earliest days.

As Chief Justice Warren Burger noted in his majority opinion of Lynch v. Donnelly (1984), the Supreme Court Chamber where judicial cases related to religion are “heard is decorated with a notable and permanent-not seasonal-symbol of religion: Moses with the Ten Commandments.”[1]

In addition to the Supreme Court, state courtrooms and capitols across our land have housed similar displays for decades without any legal challenges or constitutional prohibitions: The Texas State Capitol, the chambers of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and scores of other legislatures, courthouses, and other public buildings. “In fact, the Ten Commandments are more easily found in America’s government buildings than in her religious buildings, thus demonstrating the understanding by generations of Americans from coast to coast that the Ten Commandments formed the basis of America’s civil laws.”[2]

Without the declaration of the first two commandments, there can’t be an ultimate justification of the commandments that follow, including those against murder (sixth), theft (eighth), and perjury (ninth). This is why an appeal to natural law fails, especially since evolution killed any notion of a fixed transcendent law can be found in nature. There are no moral absolutes given the operating assumptions of materialists who advocate a something from nothing origin of life and survival of the fittest worldview.

God died in the nineteenth century and Nietzsche danced on his grave. The foundation of the external moral law was destroyed and, in its place, was a vacuum, soon gleefully filled by the narcotics of Nazism and Communism. It may not be possible to say that the death of God led directly to the death ovens; but equally, nobody can ignore the fact that the cruelest era in history was also the first to deny the existence of an external moral force.[3]

The Ten Commandments has been that fixed summary standard in America since its founding. As Nightline host Ted Koppel stated in a 1987 commencement address at Duke University, “What Moses brought down from Mt. Sinai were not the Ten Suggestions. They are commandments. Are, not were. The sheer brilliance of the Ten Commandments is that they codify in a handful of words acceptable human behavior, not just for then or now, but for all time. Language evolves. Power shifts from one nation to another. Messages are transmitted with the speed of light. Man erases one frontier after another. And yet we and our behavior and the commandments governing that behavior remain the same.”[4]

Here’s a sample of how secularists don’t deny commandments but reimage them to fit their naturalistic worldview for their benefit:

The First Commandment states that there is only one God, and only He can save us. The secular State believes it is God and only it can save us. Consider the following from former Senator, Secretary of State during Barack Obama’s second presidential term, and current “Climate Envoy” John Kerry:

When you start to think about it, it’s pretty extraordinary that we — select group of human beings because of whatever touched us at some point in our lives—are able to sit in a room and come together and actually talk about saving the planet… I mean, it’s so almost extraterrestrial to think about saving the planet. If you say that to most people, most people think you’re just a crazy, tree-hugging, lefty liberal, you know, do-gooder, or whatever, and there’s no relationship. But really, that’s where we are.[5]

The Second Commandment, related to the First Commandment, forbids idolatry, of making images and worshiping them. Governments continue to make idols to themselves. You will find busts, statues, and paintings of government leaders across the national landscape. Some of these idols have gotten bizarre and surrealistically satanic like the 8-foot bronze statue outside a New York City courthouse of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the second woman to serve on the United States Supreme Court. Ginsburg is celebrated for her fierce defense of killing unborn babies. “Was there any public input whatsoever before a satanic golden medusa demon with tentacle arms was installed atop a downtown courthouse?,” NYC Councilwoman Vickie Paladino asked.

The State has become an idol and is worshipped as a god when the Bible declares that it is to be a “minister [servant] of God to [us] for good” (Rom. 13:4). The State continues to grow with the promise of political salvation.

The Third Commandment forbids taking God’s name in vain. Politicians appeal to God all the time and yet violate His commandments in the same breath. On February 2, 2012, as the annual National Prayer Breakfast, President Obama began by “giving all praise and honor to God for bringing us together here today.” He then quoted or paraphrased at least ten passages from the Bible. President Obama referenced God—even singing “Amazing Grace”—in his eulogy for Rev. Pinckney in 2015 and soon after celebrated the Supreme Court’s ruling making same-sex marriage the law of the land specifically contrary to the Bible he so freely quoted in 2012. This is taking God’s name in vain. It’s not only Democrats who take God’s name in vain. Republican presidents have done it as well. “In 1973, April 30th to be exact, Richard Nixon delivered a television address to the nation trying to explain away the growing Watergate scandal that led to his resignation, ending his speech with the words, ‘God bless America and God bless each and every one of you.’” The worst violation of the Third Commandment is using God to support wars. There are many examples throughout history.[6] The result is that the majesty of God is emptied of any significance.

The Fourth Commandment sets one day a week aside for rest. The interesting thing about this commandment is that it’s found in Article I, Section 7, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution: “…. If any Bill shall not be returned by the President within ten Days (Sundays excepted) after it shall have been presented to him, the Same shall be a Law….” There is much debate over how Sabbath laws should be interpreted and applied. A one-day rest is based on creation in that even God rested (Gen. 2:2-3; Heb. 4:4-6). However the Fourth Commandment is interpreted and applied, the State does not own our time. The French Revolutionaries understood this principle so well that they wanted to destroy it. Not only did they start their revolutionary calendar with a New Year One, but the revolutionaries also transformed the seven-day creation calendar into a ten-day week. For example, “a year before the Revolution, the notorious atheist Sylvain Maréchal designed his own system, eliminating the saint days of the Roman Catholic year and replacing Christmas with Newton’s December 25th birthday.” The French Enlightenment represented four main related themes: atheism, secularism, naturalism, and rationalism. Even so, it was still religious.[7] “The Jacobins and others established their ‘Cult of Reason,’ or their ‘Cult of the Supreme Being,’ re-dedicating churches as temples of reason, and enacting a festival in that ideal’s name upon the altar of Notre Dame. But ultimately temples are places of faith, no matter how loud the denials. A cult is still a cult, after all.”[8]

The Fifth Commandment defines the family. The courts have redefined the family, and by redefining the family they can now rewrite all laws in terms of that new definition that includes same-sex marriage, polygamy, pedophilia, and even bestiality. (See the Seventh Commandment.) As a result of rejecting God’s Commandments, the State has become the parent to millions of people made dependent on civil government for everything: “The paternal state not only feeds its children, but nurtures, educates, comforts, and disciplines them, providing all they need for their security. This appears to be a mildly insulting way to treat adults, but it is really a great crime because it transforms the state from being a gift of God, given to protect us against violence, into an idol. It supplies us with all blessings, and we look to it for all our needs. Once we sink to that level, as [C.S.] Lewis says, there is no point in telling state officials to mind their own business. ‘Our whole lives are their business.’”[9]

The Sixth Commandment was legislated out of existence decades ago by sanctioning perpetual war and the legalization of killing unborn children called abortion. “[A Minnesota] bill not only allows for abortions for any reason through all nine months of pregnancy, but what it does to strip away parental rights is abhorrent,” State Sen. Julia Coleman said. “It not only allows this for minors, but it also allows for minors’ sterilization without parental consent or notification.”[10] Voters in Ohio made the right for women to kill their unborn children a constitutional amendment.

The Seventh Commandment in its prohibition of adultery is a summary statement about all marital relationships. The law prohibiting adultery rests on the creation mandate of marriage being between a man and a woman (Gen. 1:27-28; 2:20-25). The compliment of man and woman is what’s “suitable,” not a man and man or a woman and a woman. Jesus confirmed the creation mandate (Matt. 19:1-6). Even some supposed orthodox Christians have fallen into the trap that the Ten Commandments only apply to personal Christian morality and not the State. Consider the following from Todd Bordow, pastor of an Orthodox Presbyterian congregation in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, about bestiality:

Not being a theonomist [an advocate for God’s law that applies to believers and unbelievers alike] or theocrat [someone who believes that God is the ultimate lawgiver], I do not believe it is the state’s role to enforce religion or Christian morality. So allowing something legally is not the same as endorsing it morally. I don’t want the state punishing people for practicing homosexuality. Other Christians disagree. Fine. That’s allowed. That is the distinction. Another example—beastiality [sic] is a grotesque sin and obviously if a professing member engages in it he is subject to church discipline. But as one who leans libertarian in my politics, I would see problems with the state trying to enforce it; not wanting the state involved at all in such personal practices; I’m content to let the Lord judge it when he returns. A fellow church member might advocate for beastiality [sic] laws. Neither would be in sin whatever the side of the debate. Now if the lines are blurry in these distinctions, that is always true in pastoral ministry dealing with real people in real cases in this fallen world.[11]

Does such a libertarian ethic apply to the Sixth Commandment against murder? Because atheistic evolution is the official religion of the State, how is any act punishable? The answer is simple: the State, as God, makes its own laws. If the State is not obligated to enforce God’s view of morality (we’re back to the First and Second Commandments), then the State will enforce some other religion’s morality or its own morality since all morality is based on some overriding belief system. Statism is a religion, and Statists make up their own commandments. Commandments are inescapable.

By This Standard: The Authority of God's Law Today

Millions of Christians, sadly, have not recognized the continuing authority of God's law or its many applications to modern society. They have thereby reaped the whirlwind of cultural and intellectual impotence. They implicitly denied the power of the death and resurrection of Christ. They have served as footstools for the enemies of God. But humanism's free ride is coming to an end. This book serves as an introduction to this woefully neglected topic.

The Eighth Commandment prohibits stealing. Our nation’s outrageous taxing system is based on theft when people are given the right to vote to take money from some people so it can be given to other people, typically, themselves. If it’s wrong for individuals to confiscate someone’s property, is it morally justified for a group of individuals to band together and vote for people in power to take money from some people so it can be given to other people?

The Bible is a material book, and material things matter to God (1 Tim. 4:4), including economic matters like goods, commodities, contracts, employee/employer relationships, debt, property, restitution, taxation, the tithe, the best way to help the poor, etc. We know this by the way the Bible presents economic issues within a specific creational and moral framework. A person who will not work does not get to eat: “For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies. Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread” (2 Thess. 3:10). Of course, there are exceptions. A person might be physically unable to work. The best way to handle these exceptions is on the individual level. Instead, our national and state governments have subsidized bad behavior and forced other people to pay for it, and as a result, got more of what they were trying to remedy.

Inflation is the increase in the money supply. What entity has control of the money supply? Governments. How do governments create money? They print or digitize it and use it to bribe voters which in the end dilutes the buying power of their money on hand which then results in higher prices as more dollars chase the same number of goods thus driving up prices. Governments do what individuals and businesses are not permitted to do. They create Ponzi schemes like Social Security and counterfeit.

The Ninth Commandment prohibits bearing false witness. Politicians bear false witness with almost every word they speak. Consider the following statement from presidential candidate Barack Obama that he gave on April 17, 2008, when he was campaigning for the presidency: “I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Now, for me as a Christian, it’s also a sacred union. God’s in the mix.” Hillary Clinton said something similar. They now wholeheartedly support same-sex marriage and every other sexual perversion.

The Tenth Commandment is an indictment on the modern State and those who support it because civil governments covet everything: power, property, authority, money, prestige, privilege, liberty, and our children. Naboth’s vineyard comes to mind (1 Kings 21). When the State can’t obtain all things for itself, it makes it illegal for anyone else to possess it. Governments covet individual liberty, and they don’t want anyone else to have it but them. Jesus condemned the covetousness of power and authority even among His followers:

Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Jesus with her sons, bowing down and making a request of Him. And He said to her, “What do you desire?” She said to Him, “Say that in Your kingdom these two sons of mine shall sit, one at Your right, and one at Your left.” But Jesus replied, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They said to Him, “We are able.” He said to them, “My cup you shall drink; but to sit at My right and at My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by My Father.” And after hearing this, the other ten disciples became indignant with the two brothers. But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the nations exercise lordship [see 1 Pet. 5:3] over them, and those in high position exercise authority over them. It is not this way among you, but whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant, and whoever desires to be first among you shall be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many” (Matt. 20:20-28).

The latest persistent example is cake baker Jack Phillips who refused to decorate a cake celebrating a homosexual wedding. The state of Colorado continues to harass him by denying him the liberty to say no to messages he objects to. Every person, religious or not, should have the same liberty. But because people with agendas don’t like individual liberty (except their own), they want to use the power of the State to deny other people’s liberty. In Colorado, a baker can refuse to make a cake with an anti-LGBTQ+ message on it, but a baker cannot refuse to add a pro-LGBTQ+ message on it.

In J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, the power of the ring is not something to be desired even by good people. The goal is to destroy it. When Boromir fails to avoid the ring’s power, he dies. Even Gandalf and the elves shun the power of the ring. Tolkien is doubtful that any person can resist the temptation of absolute power promised by the ring, even if that power is used for good. That is one of the great themes of the series.

From Pop-Prophecy to Pop-Culture - The American Vision

 Right now, the Church rules the nations of the world. We and we alone have been given power and dominion, and if we don’t like the way things are going, we have only ourselves to blame.

The culture is a reflection of the Church, and music is a commentary on the culture. Music, in turn, influences the culture.[4] It’s cyclical like vinyl spinning on the turn table. If God’s people ever want to break the cycle, we need to lift the needle and put on a new record.

Fundamentalists rant and rail about both our culture and the music of our culture. They don’t realize that it’s all a result of the song the Church has been playing since “The Dispensationalists” became the hottest band in the Christian world back at the turn of the 20th century. John Nelson Darby was the warmup act before C.I. Scofield stole the show.  Today, God’s people still can’t get Scofield’s tune out of their heads, and the world is simply dancing along.

Dispensationalism’s doomsday dirge has been echoed in numerous popular tunes of our time.  From CCR’s “Bad Moon Rising,”[5] to Europe’s “Final Countdown,”[6] to Metallica’s “Four Horsemen,”[7] many songs parrot the common understanding of New Testament prophecy in contemporary Christian theology. Needless to say, the songwriters didn’t have the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 in mind when they penned their chart-toppers.

Last Days Madness

In this authoritative book, Gary DeMar clears the haze of "end-times" fever, shedding light on the most difficult and studied prophetic passages in the Bible, including Daniel 7:13-14; 9:24-27; Matt. 16:27-28; 24-25; Thess. 2; 2 Peter 3:3-13, and clearly explaining a host of other controversial topics.

Perhaps the most popular example is Prince’s “1999.” This hit aptly captured what would eventually become the Y2K craze. It’s hard to refrain from the song’s catchy refrain: “Say, say, 2000-00, party over, Oops, out of time, So tonight I’m gonna party like it’s 1999.”[8]  Much to Dispensationalism’s dismay, “2000-00” scored a zero on the prophecy charts, and another decade came and went without an apocalyptic trace.

“Hello, I’m Johnny Cash”

While the Purple One utilized the Armageddon theme as a simple lyrical trope, the Man in Black took doomsday in a more serious tone. In “Matthew 24 (is Knocking on the Door),”[9] Johnny Cash’s lyrical talent brilliantly weaves together Dispensationalism’s less-than-brilliant take on many prophetic passages in the Bible:

I heard on the radio rumors of war
People gettin’ ready for battle
And there may be just one more

I heard ’bout an earthquake
And the toll it took away
These are the signs of the times we’re in today

Matthew 24 is knockin’ at the door
And there can’t be too much more to come to pass
Matthew 24 is knockin’ at the door
And a day or one day more could be the last

The great bear from the Northland
Has risen from his sleep
And the army ranks in red are near
Two hundred million deep

The young and old now prophesy
A coming prince of peace
And last night I dreamed of lightning in the east

Matthew 24 is knockin’ at the door
And there can’t be too much more to come to pass
Matthew 24 is knockin’ at the door
And a day or one day more could be the last

Johnny Cash’s contemporary, Barry McGuire, famously sang, “But you tell me over and over and over again my friend, Ah, you don’t believe we’re on the eve of destruction.”[10] As it turns out, McGuire’s “friend” in the song was right all along.  That was 1965, and we weren’t on the eve of destruction after all. But we were on the eve of Hal Lindsey’s Late Great Planet Earth.  This bestseller would hit the bookshelves in 1970, and its impact would be felt at every level – even at the level of arts and entertainment.

The Bob Dylan Effect

Bob Dylan was unquestionably one of the most influential artists of our time, and the artist himself wasn’t without his own influences. In an article entitled “The Hal Lindsey Effect: Bob Dylan’s Christian Eschatology,” Jeffrey Lamp of Oral Roberts University writes, “Hal Lindsey’s eschatology functions in a multi-faceted way in Dylan’s thought.”[11] Lamp gives obvious examples, like this line from Dylan’s song When You Gonna Wake Up: “There’s a sword being flashed for all those in sorrow and despair, you won’t find it so hard to imagine when you meet it in the middle of the air.”[12] On a deeper level than the lyrics of the songs themselves are the words Dylan frequently spoke during his concerts before those songs. Lamp gives the following examples:

“You know we’re living in the last days of the end of times. In the last days of the end of times, you’re going to need something strong to hang on to, so this song is called ‘Hanging On To A Solid Rock Made Before The Foundation Of The World.’ You’re gonna need something that strong.”[13]

“I suppose you’ve been reading the newspapers and watching the TV? And you see how much trouble this world is in. Madmen running loose everywhere. Anyway we, we’re not worried about that though — it doesn’t bother us — because we know this world is going to be destroyed. Christ will set up his kingdom for a thousand years in Jerusalem where the lion will lie down with the lamb — we know this is true. No doubt about it. So, it’s a slow train coming. It’s been coming for a long time, but it’s picking up speed.”[14]

“All right. Now don’t be dismayed by what you read in the newspapers about what’s happening to the world. Because, now, the world as we know it now is being destroyed. I’m sorry to say it, but it’s . . . it’s the truth. In the matter of a short time—I don’t know, maybe in three years, maybe five years, could be ten years, I don’t know—there’s gonna be a war. It’s gonna be called the war of Armageddon. It’s gonna happen in the Middle East. Russia’s gonna come down and attack first and you watch for that sign. Anyway, we’re not worried about that. We know there’s gonna be a new kingdom set up in Jerusalem for a thousand years. And that’s where Jesus will set up his kingdom, as sure as you’re standing there, it’s gonna happen. So this is called, “Hanging On To A Solid Rock Made Before The Foundation Of The World.”[15]

The Times They Aren’t A-Changin’

One of Dylan’s most popular songs is, “The Times They Are A-Changin’.”[16] But not much has changed in the world of Dispensationalism over the last few decades.  They continue to claim that we’re in the last decade – decade after decade. The trouble is that today’s younger Dispensationalists aren’t familiar with the songs of previous decades.

In his article, Lamp notes Dylan’s “appeal to current events as portents of the approaching end of times.”[17] This is Dispensationalism 101, and you didn’t need to go to a seminary to learn it. All you had to do was go to a Bob Dylan concert. The problem is that Dylan was wrong, Hal Lindsey was wrong, and all the Dispensationalists of their day were wrong. The world didn’t end in “three years,” in “five years,” or even “ten years,” as Dylan predicted. Nonetheless, Dispensationalists are still blasting the same tune today, and that’s the real problem.

When I was a teenager, I heard Bruce Springsteen’s cover of “War,” by Edwin Starr.  I loved the song and thought it was one of the Boss’s best. It was only later that I learned Springsteen wasn’t the original artist. A similar phenomenon is happening with the current generation of younger Christians. The performers stealing the show today are men like David Jeremiah, Greg Laurie and Jack Hibbs. They assure their screaming fans that current events equal Biblical portents.  With the book sales soaring and the money pouring, everyone is “holding steady” and “rapture ready”.  Even today, Dispensationalists still insist that the time is “nearing midnight”.[18] What today’s young people don’t realize is that this song has been done already.

If you’re a younger believer today, the conditions of the world have most likely left you dismayed. And rightly so. But the cultural decline isn’t a prophetic sign. On the contrary, it’s a pathetic sign. It’s a sad indication that the previous generation left yours behind as they waited anxiously for Jesus to take them to the sweet by and by.  Rather than working to change the world, God’s People have been looking for Him to come and take them out of the world.  David Chilton accurately summarized the mentality that has yielded the results that we now see all around us:

“For too long, Christians have been characterized by despair, defeat, and retreat. For too long, Christians have heeded the false doctrine which teaches that we are doomed to failure, that Christians cannot win – the notion that, until Jesus returns, Christians will steadily lose ground to the enemy. The future of the Church, we were told, is to be a steady slide into apostasy. Some of our leaders sadly informed us that we are living in a ‘Laodicean age’ of the Church (a reference to the ‘lukewarm’ church of Laodicea, spoken of in Rev. 3:14-22). Any new outbreak of war, any rise in crime statistics, any new evidence of the breakdown of the family, was often oddly viewed as progress, a step forward toward the expected goal of the total collapse of civilization, a sign that Jesus might come to rescue us at any moment. Social action projects were looked on with skepticism: it was often assumed that anyone who actually tried to improve the world must not really believe the Bible, because the Bible taught that such efforts were bound to be futile; as one famous preacher put it, ‘You don’t polish brass on a sinking ship.’ That slogan was based on two assumptions: first, that the world is nothing more than a ‘sinking ship’; second, that any organized program of Christian reconstruction would be nothing more than ‘polishing brass.’ Evangelism was an invitation to join the losing side.”[19]

David Chilton wrote this in 1987. And it still holds true today. Modern Christians are slow to change the station despite the fact that Dispensationalism is nothing more than a long series of failed prophecies based on a faulty interpretation of Scripture. They continue to listen to the same songs, even after all this time.

Sinking Ships and New Songs

The “sinking ship” mentality began when John Nelson Darby sang his tune in the early to mid-1800s, and that ship was sailing at full speed ahead by the end of the 19th century.  Prior to that, God’s people envisioned a Gospel that would permeate every area of life and every aspect of society.[20] As the late Gary North wrote, “Christians haven’t taken seriously this vision of victory since the 1870’s … For over a century, this vision faded in the hearts and minds of regenerate people. A vision of defeat, in time and on earth, replaced the older vision of victory. The churches went into hiding, culturally speaking. They left the battlefield, and the humanists won by default.”[21]

The Rapture and the Fig Tree Generation

For decades Christians have been enticed with the belief that they would be taken to heaven before a coming tribulation period in an event called the “rapture.” Since the national reestablishment of Israel in 1948, countless books and pamphlets have been written defending the doctrine assuring readers that it could happen at any moment. Some prophecy writers claimed the “rapture” would take place before 1988. We are far removed from that date. Where are we in God’s prophetic timetable?

By the turn of the 20th century, the Scofield Reference Bible with its Dispensational reference notes was the Church’s manual of survival. The defeatist mentality then hit an all-time high with the works of Hal Lindsey in the 1970s, and the failed predictions soon followed. The fundamental error of the fundamentalists was the propensity to interpret fulfilled prophecy as unfulfilled.  Lindsey told the believers of his day that they were “the terminal generation,” but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that “this generation” (Matt. 24:34) meant the generation to whom Jesus was speaking.  The truth is that Matthew 24 was knocking at the door of the disciples, rather than the door of Christians today, and that door swung wide open when Jerusalem’s walls were broken, and the Romans destroyed the city in AD 70.

The condition of the world today isn’t a sign of the times, but it is a sign that the Church’s eschatology has influenced the times. And today, the sign on the Dispensationalists’ door says: “Rapture Postponed: New Date Coming Soon.”  Indeed, 2028 has become the new 1988,[22] and believers are spinning the same record all over again. It’s time for believers to stop, think, and learn, and let the Dispensational ship sink into the depths, never to return. We need to break the cycle. If you are a young believer, don’t waste your life waiting for Jesus to take you out of the world. Spend your life working to change the world instead. Leave a better world to the next generation than the world the previous generation left to you. Dispensationalism got it wrong, and it’s time for God’s people to sing a new song (Psalm 40:3).
