You Must Like Being Broke - by Karl Denninger (An essay on SHTUPID! - CL)

 Right here folks.

"We're working through an energy transition...The reality is, we have to take some time to get off of oil and gas, we recognize this. This is a transition."

Who "recognizes" this?

I thought the problem was Russia?  Oh, you admit its not?

Well thank you, considering that was obvious the day Keystone was canceled and from the actions of the administration since.  I give you credit for not trying to hide behind Putin but rather admitting you're deliberately ****ing Americans up the ass and intend to continue to do so.

I remind you there are no renewables, other than hydro, that are reliable.  The wind does not always blow and the sun does not always shine.  Never mind the fact that neither is actually "green"; that's a scam.  We make it appear so by deliberately shoving the environmental damage on others.

Come talk to me when the entire closed-cycle cost of a windmill and solar cell is right here in the United States.  It is for coal, natural gas and oil; we dig both out of the ground here, we refine the oil here, we consume it here and as such all the environmental damage, whatever it is, is here.

You can use windmills and solar, hiding the environmental costs over "there" (e.g. China) for a while, but then the disposal problem is here.  Both are rather nasty.  Windmill blades are fiberglass and nobody knows the long-term impact, at present, of the resins made with oil and other nasty chemicals when chopped up and buried -- so we're not.  Thermoset resins (those used for fiberglass) are not recyclable as are thermoplastic resins (think "Solo cups" or "gallon plastic milk jugs.")  Solar cells are full of nasty things (including lead and cadmium) and it is difficult to recycle the non-nasty parts (e.g. the glass) because of the polymer bonding agents to keep them together.  Both also involve the use of highly-toxic chemicals in their production.

It is wildly dishonest to claim that oil and natural gas are "evil" because the damage taken from their production is here while solar and wind are not because the damage is shoved off somewhere else, not because it does not occur.  It does occur.

But much more-serious is the fact that these are unreliable.  Natural gas and oil are reliable energy resources.  Indeed, until and unless you do stupid things, as we have, a natural gas pipeline will flow gas provided there is gas at the source because the pumps required to move it can run on the gas in the pipe, and thus it is self-sustaining.  Of course we have now "transitioned" to the "greener" alternative of using electrical motors all over the place which is dead-headed stupid if the power for the motor is natural gas derived as more energy conversions means less efficiency and raises the specter of no supply at all if you make the power source "renewable" and then the sun does not shine.

If you force building heat to be all "heat pumps" that sounds green but it really isn't because you just hid the emissions and worse, you must have and staff the fossil fuel backup for when the sun does not shine and the wind does not blow or everyone freezes in the dark.  That plant has to be both available to operate and be staffed, which means it must be built, maintained and in a "standby" configuration all the time despite not being used.  That's a cost and you pay it when the alternative was to just use it and forget about the expensive solar cells and windmills in the first place!

I get it that people have bought into the false narrative of so-called "climate change."  But those who scream the loudest about it don't believe it themselves.  Why would Barack Obama, for example, buy a very expensive piece of property right on the beach if he thinks the water level is going to rise and render it worthless since it will be underwater?

He did buy said properties; ergo, he does not believe the sea level will rise.  Period.

Those of us in the world called reality always check the claims of others with the bets they've made with their wallets.  If you say one thing and yet place a huge amount of your money on the other side of the table you are lying -- your money is not lying.

Those who place bets in the market every day realize that there is exactly one way to know how someone actually believes: Where is their money and do they make or lose money from their position based on the outcome they claim to profess?  If I buy a stock it is because I believe it will be worth more tomorrow than today and the person who sells it to me believes the opposite.  One of us is right and one of us is wrong.  If I go long a futures contract I believe the price will be higher, and if I go short I believe it will be lower.  Someone is on the other side of that trade and believes the opposite; if there is no "someone" then I cannot take the position since someone has to be on the other side for the transaction to take place.  Again, one of us is right and the other wrong in every case.  The person who is right makes money and the person who is wrong either pays directly or loses by missing out on the gain.

This is true for anyone who has ever traded anything.  It is true for anyone who has played poker, for example; you bet because you believe what you hold, and what is to come, favors you in odds.  The other person(s) call or raise because they believe the opposite.  While luck determines one particular hand's outcome over time everyone gets the same number of aces and deuces; therefore if you are right more often than wrong you win and what you win is the other person's money!

If you think Obama bought waterfront property and spent millions of dollars on it with an honest belief it was going to be an aquarium in the foreseeable future you're nuts.  The moment it becomes apparent that will actually happen the value of said property and the structures on it becomes zero.

He does not believe a single word of that bull**** and neither do any of the other so-called "leaders" who are doing this.  They're all liars, they know it and they are not doing it to save the planet -- they are doing to screw you for their own PERSONAL enrichment in both power and money.

This scam, as with the others including the va$$ines, masking your kids in school, lockdowns and similar were all disclosed quite-clearly and early.  We knew Fraudci and similar knew masks didn't work because he was caught multiple times without them on, on camera, after proclaiming otherwise as just one example.  Rather than tell those who engaged in any of this crap "NO!" and mean it, including simply refusing to have anything to do with them whether it be in employment, querying a business as to such and refusing to patronize, refusing to fix a car, do someone's taxes or otherwise engage in any way or even sitting in a pew in Church with such a person we as a body politic have instead made excuses for those who are deliberately screwing you and your children.  We did it with Covid and we've done it for the last couple of decades with the scam called "global warming" and the claim that the entire premise and base of our modern society, which is the exploitation of energy commodities available to us in all of their forms, somehow makes us "evil."

This is a lie; not only has said energy made our modern life possible the feed source for fertilizer, which is utterly necessary for modern agricultural production, is natural gas.  Without it while the United States will not starve (we will, however, see wildly higher food prices -- see wheat futures for an example, which are up forty percent in the last few weeks to levels last seen during the energy price spike of 2008) other nations will indeed see mass-famine, starvation and likely food riots and even civil war if this is allowed to go forward.  There is, incidentally, no buffer in most Americans' budgets for food prices to double as a result of so-called "green energy" mandates and policies -- and they might.

If you as an American are willing to allow this sort of thing to go on, when it is blatantly obvious that those pushing this bull**** are lying through their teeth as they are chock-full of waterfront property, diesel powered boats and private aircraft, all of which consume ridiculous amounts of fossil-fueled energy and are utterly reliant on the sea NOT rising to maintain their value then you're ****ing stupid.

I leave it to you what should happen to every one of them and I remind you that in the US alone there are 330 million people who wildly outnumber any amount of "resistance" they could put up and thus could force literally any retributive action, legal or not, that is chosen to occur.
