There is a well-known saying about minds that describes how small minds discuss people, normal minds discuss events, and great minds discuss ideas.
This is, of course, the most midwit aphorism that ever constructed, since the average midwit’s idea of discussing ideas is to a) identify it as something he has heard about and either b) find a way to somehow relate it to his personal life or c) explain his Very Important Opinion about it.
