There's a thing about being right, which I've pointed out more than many on the Internets: Israel has Bibi's "body count" in the form of fellatio by virtually every US politician including our current President. All you need to do is count the number of them who have taken junkets to kiss the wall, an utterly-insane act demonstrating divided loyalty that no actual nation with its own heart in its hands would tolerate -- yet we have and do. Whether that is based on an utterly-insane view of "dispensationalism" or otherwise isn't really all that relevant in that in theory our Constitution explicitly prohibits the granting of "special status" when it comes to government policy on the basis of religion.
Its clear that Israel wanted this war. Israel wants effective control over the Middle East -- and has since we carved it out of whole cloth with the excuse of WWII, despite the land involved having no government involvement by said Nazis who were vanquished. Our original sin could be said to lie there but in fact it goes back further -- to at least the Balfour Declaration.
No matter; here we are today. And in the "today" it is Israel that wants control over the Middle East as a hegemonic government. Big shock.
Now here's the problem: They ain't alone in that regard and they have a serious problem here because for the most part they're devoid of the resources that make the Middle East "special" -- that is, oil and natural gas. What natural resource can Israel extract and sell to generate revenue? Not much, when you get down to it. Further, that part of the world is extraordinarily hostile (read: cannot support) a large population without artificial fresh water supplies (desalination), and to drive those you need enormous amounts of energy. To be specific Qatar, the UAE and Kuwait are entirely dependent in this regard as is Israel. To put this in perspective perhaps 80 of the ~100 million people who live in this area today could not remain without desalination; they would either die or be forced to leave.
Water is quite-literally life. Without it you're dead in short order; it is second only to oxygen in that regard.
IMHO this is the soft underbelly nobody wants to discuss that is driving much of the current insanity -- and has for the last several decades.
