This will collapse demand (it already has) in all areas other than AI with nobody buying anything of the sort except when forced. At the margin this destroys employment and productivity because the increase in cost, 50% or more higher and when it comes to RAM 400% higher, will absolutely put a hard stop to adding the next employee unless you must.
Impacts like this, if they're confined to a small area of a market, do not tend to hit the broader economy because while they screw one element of it they help another, thus it balances out.
That is not the case here; this is across every sort of business that has desks for people whether they are in-office or remote, it hits every piece of machinery that is controlled by a computer and it hits every single consumer and small business because each and every one of them has at least two of these (the gateway and then whatever end-user device is in use) with most firms having one device per employee.
Anyone who believes this sort of forced cost-push across all sectors of the economy engendered by the AI nonsense will not fold back on everyone in the markets is out of their mind. It will, it already is, and it will continue until the insanity comes to an end -- which will occur when that forward demand collapses along with hiring in every single job classification across the economy beyond that of literal ditch-diggers.
If you've watched your portfolio take off as a result of being in these names (directly or indirectly) you might want to consider that when that foldback comes sales will go through the floor and those firms that are currently high-flying but have build more capacity than organic demand supports, especially if they took on debt to do so, may fail entirely and be zeros.
