Note to Mentors - Do Christians Need to Grow in Grace and Knowledge? - CL

If there is one observation I have that stands out about the modern church, it is the 'it's all about me' attitude that Jesus is here to provide for our needs and desires - a sort of divine butler.
While the bible states that our faith should be childlike, it should not be childish; that we should grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and master ...and also admonishes us for remaining babes, only feeding on milk - unable to eat strong meat - and while we should be teaching others, we continue on milk and are thus unable by constant practice to determine good from evil.
Furthermore, by our lack of general knowledge - comparable to or worse than that of our general population - we are at a loss to even defend our faith beyond simply stating 'we believe it, that's it'.
If anyone can prove to me that is what the bible teaches - please show me where!
Today's posts focus on the absolutely clear historical evidence that Christianity was the primary source of scientific progress and that without God our Western Civilization would not exist - read them for yourself. A word search in this archive/library would reveal even more evidence to support your case.
Try it - you'll like it!
