Your instincts exist for a reason. They’re there to keep you alive when your moronic rationalization hamster tries to get you killed by convincing you that what you know is dangerous really doesn’t pose any immediate threat to life and limb. It’s downright depressing to contemplate how easily many deaths of various kinds, from drug overdoses to domestic violence, could easily be avoided, as this mother’s tragedy demonstrates.
